The chair's kickoff January 2026

The Sports' chair kickoff took place last January 15th on the Cergy campus. It was a privilege to host Romain LACHENS as our guest speaker on his 2024 Paris Olympic games experience. On January 16th, the students started working on their cases studies in Paris at Oliver Wyman's headquarters (case studies' launch), with Germain TERREAUX, the chairs' Honorary Advisor Partner at Oliver Wyman. The chairs' partners were also introduced to the cohort.

BNP lecture on Sports sponsorship as a strategic asset

This week, the ESSEC Sports Chair had the privilege of hosting Vincent-Baptiste Closon and Carole Moreau from BNP Paribas for a deep dive into one of the most iconic partnerships in sports history.

For over 50 years, BNP Paribas has been synonymous with tennis. But as Vincent-Baptiste and Carole explained, this isn't just about logo placement. It is a calculated, long-term asset that drives:

Brand Equity: Building trust through consistency (50+ years!).

Client Engagement: Using the "We Are Tennis" platform to create unique experiences.

Societal Impact: leveraging the sport to drive inclusion and youth initiatives.

Adidas Paris visit

Last week, the ESSEC Sports Chair had the incredible opportunity to step inside the Adidas Paris office.

What stood out most was the sheer diversity of career paths presented by the team. From marketing to communication, retail to strategy, the staff showed our students that there isn't just one way to work in sports—there are many.

The feedback from the students? They loved it.

Allianz visit, La Défense

Last week students had the opportunity to visit Allianz chair partner headquarters in La Defense. A presentation on insurances and the sports' business was given. It was the opportunity for students to learn more on the topic, and to ask questions to an expert.

The Future Leaders of the Sports Industry

April 2nd was a proud milestone for the 2024–2025 ESSEC Sports Chair cohort.

Our students received their certificates at the Adidas Arena — a venue that perfectly embodies the energy and ambition of the sports industry.

The experience didn’t stop there: a behind-the-scenes tour of the arena and Paris Basketball with Jérémy Sauvan, followed by a thrilling EuroLeague game between Paris Basketball and EA7 Milan .
